Students using DynEd for the first time are given a Placement Test in order to determine their proficiency levels. The computer-adaptive, variable-length test places students into the appropriate starting point in DynEd courses and ensure that they study at the optimum level. Access to the tests is controlled through the Records Manager.

The Records Manager details each learners activities and study history, including test scores, study time and frequency, learning path, and detailed information about how the student is using study features such as voice record, Speech Recognition exercises, and repetition, all of which are particularly important for language learning. It also provides constructive feedback to both teachers and students through DynEds Intelligent Tutor. This feedback influences how students study and improves the efficiency of learning activities. In addition, data from the Records Manager can be used for accountability purposes, study-path control, and effectiveness studies.

DynEds award-winning Records Manager
  • tracks, analyzes and controls the study activities of students,
  • allows students to monitor their own study records,
  • enables teachers to track full details of student learning activities and to provide coaching for optimum results,
  • keeps class and individual records for each course and lesson and creates study reports that can be printed, exported, or e-mailed for insertion into alternative database systems as required,
  • uses Intelligent Tutor to assess and improve the quality of student activities.

DynEds patented unique Shuffler technology continuously monitors the progress of learners and dynamically adjusts the content according to learner performance. As a learner gains proficiency, the number of choices and the depth of the material increases. For learners having difficulty, the material tends to recycle more often and with fewer variations. In this way, the program responds to the student, and thereby individualizes the presentation and learning tasks.

The Completion Percentage indicates how effectively the student has studied and practiced each lesson. Students are expected to attain an 80% Completion Percentage in each lesson. This will ensure that they are going through each lesson several times, repeating and recording sentences and moving from comprehension and practice to mastery. Upon reaching the required Completion Percentage, the relevant Mastery Tests unlock automatically. DynEds Mastery Tests are computer-assisted achievement tests designed to evaluate student progress and confirm mastery of the language skills developed in each course.

The Study Records show the time spent in each lesson, the number of study sessions, the Completion Percentage, Quiz and Test Scores and the Shuffler Levels. DynEds Intelligent Tutor is built into the Records Manager. It tracks and evaluates all study activities, including study frequency and the use of important learning features such as voice record and speech recognition. It makes specific study recommendations to students and teachers providing written feedback on student study habits and includes a Study Score for each student.

DynEds most recent software is the Teacher Training course. This program focuses on the theory and practice of how to use DynEds brain-based computer-assisted language learning programs. It is a tool for teachers to better understand the theoretical background and practice of DynEd, and thus helps them use the program more effectively.
